Did you have a goal of getting fit in 2009?
Have you contacted a personal trainer?
Have you joined a gym or dug out your old gym membership card?
Does the thought of doing any of these things not really excite you?
How about a training programme you can do from the comfort of your own home - and for ONLY ONE HOUR PER WEEK??!!
At All About You we have been working on some new products to bring to you this year - one of them being a home workout DVD series. The programme will include a 20 minute workout instructional manual, nutritional information and general health and fitness information.
All of this will be delivered to your door and support will be on hand to guide you through it.
THE BEST THING IS WE ARE LOOKING TO GIVE THIS AWAY FOR FREE FOR A SELECT FEW APPLICANTS!
Why are we doing this?
Well we want to make sure that the programme we deliver is exactly what our clients are looking for. Therefore we need you give us your feedback.
So here's the deal:
If you are selected you will be required to complete 3 20 minute workout sessions each week and follow the nutritional advice given for two full weeks.
At the end of these two weeks we need your feedback. You will be sent a questionnaire in which we want you to be BRUTALLY honest and then we can make the appropriate changes and deliver a quality product.

Beat the January blues
It’s Friday!
You’ve made it through the most depressing week ever!
The cold weather, fading Christmas memories and broken New Years promises meant that this time of the year is usually pretty miserable, but add in the economic crisis and it makes this year worse than ever.
So here at All About You we’ve put together a top 10 list of ways to relax and de-stress this weekend…
1. Get plenty of sleepMost people don’t get enough of this. In an ideal world you should be getting to bed around 10pm getting 8-9 hours sleep a night. A lack of sleep can lead to headaches, digestive problems and even serious illness.
Help your body relax and de-stress this weekend and stay under the covers for a bit longer!
2. Eat properlyYou are what you eat, if you put rubbish in you’ll get rubbish out. What you eat affects your mood, energy levels, sleep patterns and stress levels. Eat good REAL food this weekend and reap the benefits.
3. Get some exercise
You knew it was coming! Exercise causes the brain to release endorphins that ease pain and produce a sense of comfort and euphoria. Even moderate exercise can help you get to sleep quicker, concentrate more and have a sharper memory.
The key is to find something you enjoy!
4. Laugh
Sit back put on a comedy DVD and laugh your way to good health. This actually does work! Laughing stimulates the production of the stress reducing hormones. Try it!
5. Catch a few rays
This one may have to be put on hold for a little while… Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) can cause depression and fatigue. But although you may not be able to do anything about the weather just yet, taking a walk outside, even on a cloudy day can help to improve your mood.
6. Water Therapy
Water is incredibly healing. Showers and baths should be placed high on the list for relieving stress. Climb into a hot bath and let your troubles float away. Showers are also very powerful and enable you to visualise your stresses going straight down the drain.
7. Meditate
Meditation helps to reduce your blood pressure and dramatically reduce your stress levels. Slowing your breathing, relaxing your muscles and helping to clear your thoughts also results in improved concentration levels.
If you would like to try this out contact us about our meditation class.
8. Tai Chi
Tai chi aims to harmonise the mind body and spirit, promoting both mental and physical wellbeing. Through the practice of Tai Chi you become revitalised, relaxed, tolerant and stronger and healthier in both mind and body.
9. Take a power nap
A power nap of about 20 minutes can leave you feeling renewed focused and more energetic. This one might be a bit difficult to get away with at work but it can really charge your batteries and also seriously improve your health.
10. Make love!
Jump into bed – preferably with your loved one! Making love is often overlooked by tired and stressed people but it is a fantastic way to relax. Satisfying sex also leads to deep relaxation. If you really are too tired how about a massage?
So there you are our top 10 tips to get you through this stressful time. Try them out and let us know how you get on!

Are you pursuing happiness?
I was sent this clip by my friend Dax Moy and wanted to share it with you.
This is from one of my favourite films - The Pursuit of Happiness and I think it sums up exactly how we should all live our lives.
This is so relevant at this time of year. Many people have forgotten their New Year's resolutions already mainly because they find themselves surrounded by negative people telling them that they can't achieve their goals.
IGNORE THEM!
If you really want something don't listen to those negative voices.
DREAM
DREAM BIG
and then go and make them happen!

Don't set New Year's resolutions!
What have you got planned for 2009?
Is this going to be a great year for you?
January is the time when so many people set New Years resolutions and then February is usually the time when most of them decide to give up on them!
Why is that?
When someone sets a New Years resolution it is often in order to drastically change something. But we are all creatures of habit and therefore trying to change a certain type of behaviour immediately and permanently is pretty much impossible.
- And so you give up on them!
Why not try a different approach…
Try setting goals for the whole year.
It might not sound any different to you but let me explain;
Say for example you want to lose 10kg – This can go a few ways.
You drastically change your exercise, diet and lifestyle and lose the 10kg relatively easily…. And then you slip back into the old habits and the weight slowly piles back on.
BUT if you set a yearly goal to be 10kg lighter by January 2010 then you have a clear objective throughout the year.
We all have weight fluctuations, so if you gain a few pounds over the summer, so what! You still have 5 or 6 months to achieve your goal.
In the same way if your weight doesn’t drop as quickly as you’d hoped – you still have the rest of the year to achieve your goal.
Either way, just looking at things in a different way will take the pressure off having to achieve your New Years resolutions by the end of January!
